Examinees who pass the SSE Skills Test in Photography will be granted our Certificate of Professional Photographers.
The skills test asks the examinees to turn in a total of seven photographs in which five out of the seven photographs must carry the themes from the nine required categories listed below. Excluding the category of Creative Photography, photos submitted cannot be enhanced with special effects after the initial photo-taking; frame-cutting, margin modification, coloring, drawing, integrating, and image-manipulation are totally not allowed.
Two of the elective photographs are not limited by categories and themes (they can be identical to required photographs) and special alteration and effects are permitted.
The work is graded based on the techniques, composition, aestheticism, originality, expressions and diversity. Each photograph will be graded by three professional judges and the passing photograph requires the approval of at least two judges. Five out of seven approved photographs is the passing grade and the certification is granted.
There is a zero-tolerance policy for fraudulent use of others' photographs. If any fraudulent evidence is found, the submitter's eligibility will be revoked, plus possible future liability.
